Each note plays the same recording twice at once — one copy is a perfect unison, the other has been detuned by 5–20 cents sharp or flat. Listen for the beating between the two strings: the closer you get, the slower it gets, until it stops.

Use − and + to nudge the detuned string, one cent at a time. Each press replays both notes. Press ▶ Play to replay without changing the tuning, or turn on Repeat to replay automatically every 2 seconds.

When you think it's in tune, press Check Tuning and the musical director will give their verdict. Only an exact unison counts — then press Next Note!.
