You'll hear a random note from a major scale. Identify which note it is by clicking the correct key on the piano keyboard.

The highlighted keys show which notes belong to the active scale, with their degree labels (1st, 2nd, 3rd…). Use Play Scale or Play Tonic to orient your ear at any time.

Information

Relative pitch is the skill of identifying notes based on their relationship to a reference pitch. In this game you use the tonic (root note) of the selected major scale as your anchor.

A random note from the scale is played. Click the matching key on the piano to answer. The highlighted keys show the active scale notes, labelled with their scale degree (1st, 2nd, 3rd…).

Play Scale plays all the scale notes in order. Play Tonic holds the root note so you can re-orient your ear. Use Replay or R to hear the note again, and Next or Space for the next note.

Change the scale, range, and number of included notes in Settings at any time.
