Rushing — the piano starts slightly early relative to the drums. The piano is ahead of the beat.

Dragging — the piano starts slightly late relative to the drums. The piano is behind the beat.

Use 🎵 Hear Together to hear both tracks at exactly the same time. Compare this reference with the round playback to orient your ear to the difference.

The gap between tracks decreases each level: Level 1 is 30ms, Level 10 is 5ms. At Level 10 the game keeps running — all answers count as Mastery.

Tier thresholds: Levels 1–3 Needs Practice, 4–6 Developing, 7–9 Proficient, 10+ Mastery.

Keyboard shortcuts: Left Arrow = Rushing, Right Arrow = Dragging, R = Replay, Space/Enter = Next.

That's a gap of 5ms!

In the context of a multi-part piece of music, recognising this gap correctly is excellent. You can continue the game to see how consistently you can identify this gap — however the gap will now remain at 5ms for all subsequent levels.
