You'll hear two root position triads played back-to-back. Decide if the root note of the second triad is Higher, Lower, or the Same as the first.

Both triads can be major or minor — focus on the root pitch, not the chord quality. Roots are always within C4–B4 and never more than 3 semitones apart.

How To Play

Two root position triads are played back-to-back. Each can be major or minor — your task is to decide if the root note of the second triad is Higher, Lower, or the Same as the first.

This trains your ear to track the bass/root motion through chord changes — an essential skill in harmony. Roots are kept close (up to 3 semitones apart) to make the comparison challenging.
