How to Play

Begin by pressing Play Track. You'll hear a piano recording and need to figure out which Major key it belongs to. If the track sounds as though it's in a Minor key, find the relative Major.

Use the keyboard to audition notes. Find the root note of the Major scale and click Submit.

Note: You must answer at least 5 questions for your score to be saved.

How To Play

In this game you’ll be played various piano tracks - your job is to identify the single Major key that they belong to.
        
Importantly some of these tracks contain chords outside of a single Major scale - in this case they are still predominantly in a single Major scale, which you’ll need to identify. 

Also importantly, some tracks are ambiguous between Major or Minor, or are in Minor keys - in this instance you should identify and submit the Relative Major as the answer (the key 3 semitones above the Minor tonal center).

Use the virtual keyboard to audition notes, and try and find the Major tonal center by ear.
