How to Play

You will hear two notes — the root and perfect 5th of a triad (either major or minor). Your task is to identify and select the missing 3rd that completes it.

Use the keyboard to audition notes. Once you've selected one, press Submit [note] to confirm. The notes heard are shown grey in the examples below, however in the game itself these notes will not be highlighted.

C minor: heard C + G → select E♭

C major: heard C + G → select E

Information

You'll hear the root and perfect 5th of a triad (randomly major or minor). Identify the missing 3rd that completes it — a minor 3rd (3 semitones) or major 3rd (4 semitones) above the root.

Root notes range from A3 to A4. The answer is always within the keyboard shown above.
